Complex medical cases often involve several data points over time—laboratory results, diagnostic imaging and treatment responses. A telemedicine consultation integrates all of this information to identify clinically meaningful patterns and provide a holistic perspective of each patient.

Telemedicine consultations with Dr. Smith include review of available medical records and diagnostic information followed by a dedicated phone consultation. Primary care veterinarians are welcome to participate in the telemedicine appointment along with the horse owner and/or trainer. Recommendations reflect the individual case and provide direction for further investigation, management, or collaboration with your horse’s veterinary team.

Indications for Specialist Consultation
Telemedicine consultation may be appropriate for horses with complex or unresolved medical concerns, unexpected or conflicting diagnostic findings, or conditions that have not responded as anticipated to treatment. Consultation provides focused review of existing diagnostic information, an established diagnosis or treatment plan, or a case in which additional specialist input may help guide further evaluation and management.
